dbo:abstract
Új-Franciaország (franciául Nouvelle-France) a Francia Királyság észak-amerikai gyarmatainak neve volt 1763-ig. 1712-ben, legnagyobb területi kiterjedésekor Új-Franciaország Új-Fundlandtól a Sziklás-hegységig, a Hudson-öböltől a Mexikói-öbölig terjedt.A hétéves háborút követő párizsi békében Franciaország lemondott észak-amerikai gyarmatairól: a Mississippitől keletre fekvő területeket Nagy-Britannia, a nyugatiakat Spanyolország kapta. A spanyolok 1800-ban visszaadták Louisianiát, amelyet azonban Napóleon 1803-ban az Egyesült Államoknak.
