- I. Balduin jeruzsálemi király és edesszai gróf (latinul: Balduinus I, franciául: Baudouin de Boulogne; Lotaringia, 1060 után – el-Arís, 1118. április 2.) frank nemes, keresztes lovag, 1098–1100 között Edessza grófja, 1100–1118 között Jeruzsálem királya. 1096-ban fivéreivel csatlakozott az első keresztes hadjárathoz, majd a főseregtől leszakadva 1098-ban az első keresztes államként létrehozta az Edesszai Grófságot. Bátyja, Bouillon Gottfried halála után szövetségesei támogatásával fellépett a Jeruzsálem feletti uralomra szintén igényt tartó jeruzsálemi pátriárka ellen, és a jeruzsálemi királyi cím felvételével megteremtette a tulajdonképpeni Jeruzsálemi Királyságot. Uralkodásának első öt évében sikeresen visszaverte a fátimida Egyiptom támadásait, és különféle privilégiumok fejében megszerezte az itáliai kereskedővárosok katonai támogatását. Az itáliai flották segítségével a királyság fennmaradásában kulcsszerepet játszó kikötőket – Caesarea, Akkon, Bejrút, Szidón – foglalt el, kiterjesztve a keresztesek uralmát csaknem az egész szír-palesztin partvidékre. Az egyházzal folytatott küzdelme egy világi királyság létrehozásáért az ő győzelmével zárult: fő hatalmi riválisa, elmozdíttatása után a király nagy befolyással bírt a jeruzsálemi patriarkátus fölött. 1109-ben részt vett a Tripoliszi Grófság megalapításában; ekkorra a többi keresztes állam vezetője is elismerte vezető szerepét és hűbérúri mivoltát a fejedelemségek fölött. 1113-ban sikeresen állt ellen a damaszkuszi–moszuli szövetség inváziójának; 1115–1118 között, uralkodásának utolsó éveiben több hadjáratot vezetett országa déli határán túlra, seregeivel eljutott egészen a Vörös-tengerig és a Nílus deltájáig. Halála után unokatestvére, II. Balduin edesszai gróf követte a trónon. (hu)
