- I. Henrik (1068 szeptembere – 1135. december 1.) Anglia királya 1100-tól haláláig. Henrik Hódító Vilmos negyedik fia volt. Neveltetése során megtanult latinul írni-olvasni, és valamennyire a szabad művészetekbe is beavatták, ezért a későbbi krónikák Henry Beauclerc („Könyves Henrik”) névvel illették. Apja halála után két bátyja örökölte országait: az idősebbik Róbert a , Rufus Vilmos pedig Angliát. Henrik birtok nélkül maradt, de később megvásárolta Róberttől grófságát. Miután egy ideig viszálykodó bátyjai között lavírozott, végleg Vilmos mellett kötelezte el magát. Henrik jelen volt, amikor 1100-ban Vilmos egy vadászbalesetben meghalt, és utána sietve Anglia királyává koronáztatta magát.
